Renowned pearl jewellery brands are highlighting the extraordinary charm of coveted South Sea pearls – from classic rounds to Keshi baroques – to meet the market’s rising demand for unique pieces.
Australian South Sea pearl specialist Paspaley’s latest Mermaid Collection shines the spotlight on Keshi baroque pearl for its expressive shape and unique character. A standout piece is the Wreath Collier featuring 7mm to 13mm Keshi baroque pearls.
The pearls, handpicked for their natural shape, soft glow and individual character, are arranged in a continuous wreath-like formation, towing with gentle asymmetry and visual movement, relayed Paspaley.
Brilliant-cut diamonds add brilliance between each pearl while the seamless platinum setting mimics the fluid lines of ocean waves.
“This is a contemporary heirloom, an enduring celebration of baroque pearls at scale, brought to life through generations of expertise and devotion to the sea,” Paspaley noted.
South Sea pearls are also the stars of Japanese pearl jeweller Mikimoto’s Les Pétales Place Vendôme Collection. Inspired by rose petals that float in the air and then descend onto the Place Vendôme in Paris, the collection features necklace, earrings, bracelets and rings with radiant white South Sea pearls and Akoya pearls, embellished with its signature diamond-studded petals.
Jewelmer, for its part, showcases the luxurious beauty of golden South Sea pearls with the Nids D’ange necklace. The piece features seven drop-shaped, gem-quality cultured golden South Sea pearls ranging from 10mm to 11mm in size, accented with 3.34 carats of diamonds.
