Coloured gemstone royalties ruby, sapphire and emerald continue to captivate the international market with their unique blend of splendour, value and historical significance.
The highly coveted “Big Three” in the coloured gemstone world will take centre stage at Christie’s Magnificent Jewels live auction on May 27, 2025 during Hong Kong Luxury Week.
Among the most valuable pieces on offer is The Regent Kashmir, a stunning 35.09-carat Kashmir sapphire ring, renowned for its enthralling velvety blue hue, exceptional clarity and incredibly rare origin. It is the most valuable piece of Kashmir sapphire jewellery to be offered at Christie’s globally in the last five years, boasting a pre-sale estimate of US$8.3 million to US$12 million.
Another standout piece is The Regal Ruby, a 13.22-carat Burmese ruby ring. This ultra-rare unheated ruby is notable for its intense fiery colour, exceptional transparency and remarkable rarity. According to the auction house, this is the largest and most valuable Burmese ruby to be presented at Christie’s Hong Kong in over a decade. It is expected to fetch between US$6.4 million and US$10 million.
Other highlights are a 10.35-carat no-oil Colombian emerald and diamond ring as well as a pair of earrings adorned with no-oil Colombian emeralds of 7.03 and 6.92 carats, respectively, and diamond accents.
