Fancy colour diamonds are the stars of luxury jewellers’ latest high jewellery collections, which showcase the beloved diamonds’ unparalleled brilliance and allure.
Mouawad recently launched the second chapter of its Sun on the Seven Wonders Collection, with fancy yellow diamonds as shining centrepieces. This collection pays homage to the architectural marvels of the ancient Mayan civilisation, specifically the famed ruins of Chichen Itza in Mexico.
The Chichen Itza Bangle and ring set are adorned with a cut-cornered rectangular-shaped fancy yellow diamond and an oval-shaped fancy yellow diamond, respectively. Both centre stones are surrounded by white diamonds. The designs are inspired by Chichen Itza’s pyramid and celestial alignments, according to the brand.
Graff, meanwhile, unveiled an extraordinary new high jewellery masterpiece at Haute Couture Week in Paris in January 2025. Named the Gift of Love, this piece portrays an endearing interaction between two diamond-studded sparrows – one presents a 13.51-carat fancy intense yellow pear-shaped diamond as a “gift of love” to the other. The brand describes the yellow diamond as a “powerful symbol of devotion and adoration.”
