Market appetite for coloured gemstones continues to grow as consumers increasingly gravitate towards colour and variety in their jewellery.
At the recently concluded Jewellery & Gem ASIA Hong Kong (JGA), which took place from June 20 to 23, coloured gemstone specialists and jewellers cast the spotlight on fascinating gems bound to enchant the market.
Miranda Group unveiled its new Electric Emerald Collection featuring layouts of the finest “no oil” Brazilian emeralds.
Pride of place belongs to a scintillating 29-stone necklace, earring and ring layout of Asscher-cut emeralds weighing a total of 111 carats. Another highlight was a layout of lighter emeralds combined with Paraiba tourmalines, creating a fresh pastel look that is ideal for the summer season.
Benjamin Fine Jewelry, for its part, drew attention with its 157-carat Santa Maria aquamarine pendant. The jewel is further embellished by 503 pieces of high-quality diamonds. Smaller diamonds also adorned the chain in 18-karat white gold. The eye-clean gem exhibited a sparkling blue hue with moderate intensity. A special setting made it appear as though the aquamarine was floating effortlessly in the air.
Coloured gemstones also reign supreme in Aeterna, Bulgari’s high jewellery collection for 2024.
The luxury brand took two years to collect the gems needed to create the 13 cushion-cut sapphires of the collection’s Sapphire Brocade Necklace. Diamonds and 63.48 carats of sapphires are matched with buff-top emeralds in Bulgari’s signature colour combination.
Another stunning Aeterna creation is the kaleidoscopic Earth Song necklace, which has three strands featuring 345.68 carats of different coloured gemstones. These include rubellites, amethysts, kunzites and green tourmalines in either round, oval or squared cuts.
