Jewellery brands are expanding their lab-grown diamond (LGD) offerings as more consumers gravitate towards the category’s modern, appealing narratives and attractive designs. Lightbox and Pandora have launched new LGD jewellery collections while renowned fashion designer Monique Lhuillier adds to the LGD options in the bridal jewellery space.
Lightbox has partnered with pearl jeweller Roseate and LGD jewellery online marketplace The Future Rocks to expand its product offerings, retail visibility and customer engagement.
It is now the exclusive provider of all LGDs used in the creations of Roseate, which specialises in South Sea and Tahitian pearl fine jewellery. The two brands also collaborated on the Lightbox x Roseate Light Wand, a slender scepter pendant, topped with white and blush pink lab-grown diamonds and accented with mother-of-pearl.
Meanwhile, Lightbox and Hong Kong-based The Future Rocks are unveiling their eight-piece Joy Collection in December. Designed by The Future Rocks, the collection’s rings, earrings and necklaces feature Lightbox white, blush pink and pale blue LGDs in a variety of cuts, including round brilliant, princess and trillion.
Pandora push
Pandora is also bolstering its LGD portfolio by launching a dedicated LGD campaign, introducing three new collections and entering new markets.
The brand’s Diamonds for All campaign aims to redefine diamond jewellery as special pieces for daily wear. It is headlined by style and cultural icons including model and actress Pamela Anderson, model Precious Lee and musical artist and dancer Vinson Fraley.
Pandora Lab-Grown Diamonds’ three new collections likewise encourage greater daily-wear use with contemporary takes on classic styles.
Pandora Nova highlights a four-prong setting that reveals more of the stone, with each round brilliant or princess-cut LGD seeming to float mid-air. Pandora Era offers a new take on classic bezel and prong settings as seen in its 14-karat gold trilogy pendant and bracelet that showcase three bezel-set stones in a row, while Pandora Talisman pays homage to the brand’s famous charms through five pendant designs with an LGD at the centre.
First introduced in the US and Canada followed by the UK, Pandora Lab-Grown Diamonds is now also available in Australia, Brazil and Mexico.
Bridal space
For her part, renowned bridal and fashion designer Monique Lhuillier has added LGD engagement rings and bands to her fine jewellery collection for Kay Jewelers.
“Lab-created diamonds are becoming increasingly popular among consumers looking for an impactful stone when designing the ring of their dreams,” said Lhuillier. “With this new category debut, I have showcased my signature designs with larger carat weights while remaining accessible to the Kay consumer.”
The new Monique Lhuillier BLISS Lab-Created Diamonds Collection features independently certified, colourless LGDs set in 18-karat gold.
It consists of 12 engagement ring styles, six universal matching bands and three women's LGD bands. The engagement rings feature round, princess-cut, oval, emerald and pear-shaped LGDs set in 18-karat yellow, rose or white gold.
