Dazzling pink diamonds – a 7.00-carat purplish-pink diamond ring and a 30.10-carat very light pink diamond – are the stars of upcoming luxury jewellery auctions in New York and Hong Kong, respectively.
Sotheby’s will shine the spotlight on an emerald-cut fancy intense purplish-pink diamond weighing 7 carats by Valentin Magro at its Magnificent Jewels auction scheduled for December 11 in New York.
Valued at US$3.25 million to US$4.25 million, the unique diamond is accompanied by a report from the Gemologial Institute of America stating that it is internally flawless and of a natural fancy intense purplish-pink colour.
The auction will also feature a 69.02-carat fancy vivid yellow diamond pendant-necklace and a rare fancy red diamond ring.
Over at Bonhams Hong Kong, a 30.10-carat very light pink, round brilliant-cut diamond is expected to fetch HK$12 million to HK$18 million (around US$1.54 million to US$2.31 million) at the Hong Kong Jewels & Jadeite sale on November 28.
The Type IIA, unmounted diamond of VVS2 clarity is from the property of a prestigious Asian collector and has been kept by the family for over half a century, according to the auction house.
Bonhams’ upcoming sale will feature 160 lots encompassing fancy colour diamonds, coloured gemstones and fine jewellery by Bulgari, Cartier, David Webb, De Grisogono and Schlumberger for Tiffany & Co.
Another highlight is a Kat Florence pendant with an oval Mozambique Paraiba-type tourmaline of natural greenish-blue colour, weighing 126.25 carats.
