A pair of flawless round diamonds, each weighing 18.38 carats, will go under the hammer at a Sotheby’s auction scheduled for September in Hong Kong.
The unmounted diamonds, to be offered without buyer's premium, have a pre-sale estimate of HK$30.5 million to HK$40.5 million (around US$3.91 million to US$5.19 million).
“The diamonds, each boasting a substantial size, together promise a bold, statement look that is sure to turn heads,” noted Sotheby’s. “Not yet mounted, they offer discerning purchasers the chance to choose a bespoke setting that perfectly reflects their personal style.”
The Type IIA diamonds come with two reports from the Gemological Institute of America stating that the diamonds are of D colour with flawless clarity grade, and excellent cut, polish and symmetry. The diamonds were mined in Botswana.
“Sotheby’s can connect the buyer with top designers to craft a unique mounting, ensuring these exquisite stones become true symbols of luxury and elegance,” added Sotheby’s.
The sale is slated for September 19 to 27, 2024 at Sotheby’s Hong Kong.
