California-based diamond and jewellery manufacturer Varsha Diamonds recently sold a 5-carat natural diamond for around US$275,000 in the US.
The flawless, emerald-cut D-colour diamond, which was the star of Varsha Diamonds' Fireworks Diamonds® brand, comes with a grading report from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and a Fireworks Diamonds Certificate of Authenticity.
The diamond was sold in June 2024 through Varsha Diamonds’ retail partner Phillips Jewelry in Tennessee. The new owner intended to set the diamond in an engagement ring, the company said.
According to Varsha Diamonds, its Fireworks Diamonds are scientifically proven by AGS ASET or Sarine Light Performance technologies to be the largest and brightest diamonds in the world. The company attributes this exceptional quality to its meticulous cutting techniques during their production.
“We cut for beauty, as opposed to cutting for size, and it produces superior results that the customer can see in the store,” said Jay Mehta, partner and director of Business Operations for Varsha Diamonds. “Fireworks Diamonds also minimise or eliminate visual dark fields, like bowties, from fancy-shaped diamonds, which helps retailers achieve higher margins on natural loose diamonds while giving their customers fun bragging rights.”
