Switzerland-based luxury conglomerate Richemont recently named new CEOs for high-end jewellery brands Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels.
Louis Ferla of Vacheron Constantin is succeeding Cyrille Vigneron as CEO of Cartier while Catherine Rénier of Jaeger-LeCoultre will take over as Van Cleef & Arpels CEO. These changes will take effect in September 2024. Rénier will report to former Van Cleef & Arpels CEO Nicolas Bos who is now Richemont CEO.
Vigneron will retire from his role after eight years but will continue to serve as chairman of Cartier Culture and Philanthropy.
Rénier, who initially joined the group in 1999, has extensive experience in jewellery and luxury watchmaking industry. She has worked in both Europe and Asia Pacific regions for Van Cleef & Arpels. Rénier was credited for building a strong leadership team and establishing a clear, differentiated positioning for Jaeger-LeCoultre during her tenure as CEO since 2018.
Meanwhile, Ferla, who joined Richemont in 2001, has been serving as CEO of Vacheron Constantin since 2017. Prior to this, he held several senior executive positions at Cartier. In 2015, he was promoted to the jewellery maison’s executive committee as international director clients and business.
