A fancy vivid pink diamond ring alongside a vast selection of diamonds, coloured gemstones and signed jewellery pieces are the stars of Phillips’ upcoming fine jewellery auction in Geneva.
The ring, adorned with a 6.21-carat fancy vivid pink diamond, is valued at CHF9.54 million to CHF13.63 million (approximately US$10.5 million to US$15 million) and is the focus of The Geneva Jewels Auction: TWO by Phillips scheduled for May 13.
“This exceptional gem radiates with a strong saturation and very vivid hue, placing it in the coveted fancy vivid category,” noted Phillips. “Its flawless polish and symmetry further elevate its allure, embodying the pinnacle of craftsmanship. This stone is classified as a Type IIA diamond, renowned for its exceptional purity and transparency.”
Other highlights of the sale include a 280.84-carat Colombian emerald, aptly named “The Amazon Queen,” as well as a 1.56-carat fancy red diamond, known as “The Argyle Phoenix.”
Based on pre-auction estimates, The Amazon Queen could fetch CHF1.36 million to CHF2.36 million (around US$1.5 million to US$2.6 million) while The Argyle Phoenix could sell for CHF910,000 to CHF1.36 million (about US$1 million to US$1.5 million).
The carefully curated sale of over 100 lots will also showcase signed jewels from Cartier, JAR, Sterlé, Suzanne Belperron and Van Cleef & Arpels. Phillips Worldwide Head of Jewellery Benoît Repellin said the auction house’s jewels department continues to see sustained growth and expansion.
The auction highlights will be available for viewing in New York, London, Taipei and Singapore, before returning to Geneva for the grand preview at Hotel President Geneva from May 8 to May 13. Complementing the live auction is Symbols, Colour and Form, a selling exhibition of jewels from contemporary visionaries Alix Dumas and DYNE, also open for viewing from May 8 to 13.
