The World Jewellery Confederation (CIBJO) is offering trade professionals and the general public a wealth of educational courses and training materials through the new CIBJO Academy.
The academy, established in 2023, prepares and delivers educational programmes on gem and jewellery industry standards, and operating principles and terminology developed within CIBJO commissions and expert committees.
CIBJO Vice President and CIBJO Academy Founding Dean Kenneth Scarratt is unveiling the academy’s comprehensive programme at the Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair on February 23, 2024.
According to CIBJO, the academy offers essential course materials comprising various CIBJO Blue Books and guides that cover natural diamonds, laboratory-grown diamonds, coloured gemstones, pearls, corals and precious metals as well as responsible sourcing, gemmological laboratories, marketing, ethics and legal issues, to name a few.
“The CIBJO Academy was created to make accessible to the jewellery industry the massive body of work, including trade standards and principles, and harmonised terminology and nomenclature, which is produced, refined and updated on a constant basis by CIBJO commissions and special committees,” said CIBJO President Gaetano Cavalieri.
