The Pantone Color Institute has named Peach Fuzz as colour of the year for 2024 – a warm shade that emanates compassion, kindness and unity, and subdued elegance.
Described as “subtly sensual,” Pantone 13-1023 Peach Fuzz also communicates a message of caring and sharing, community and collaboration, said the Institute.
Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of Pantone Color Institute, commented, “In seeking a hue that echoes our innate yearning for closeness and connection, we chose a colour radiant with warmth and modern elegance. A shade that resonates with compassion, offers a tactile embrace, and effortlessly bridges the youthful with the timeless.”
An appealing peach hue softly nestled between pink and orange, Peach Fuzz also presents a fresh approach to a new softness and evokes a new modernity, according to the Institute.
“At a time of turmoil in many aspects of our lives, our need for nurturing, empathy and compassion grows ever stronger as does our imaginings of a more peaceful future,” it added. “The colour we selected needed to be a colour whose warm and welcoming embrace conveyed a message of compassion and empathy.”
In the jewellery and gemstone universe, the inviting allure of Peach Fuzz can be brought to life with the use of rose gold, amber or melo pearls as well as beloved coloured gemstones like Padparadscha sapphires, morganites, fire opals, mandarin and spessartite garnets and peach moonstones, to name a few.
