India-based diamond manufacturer Shree Ramkrishna Exports Pvt Ltd (SRK) pledged to achieve net zero emissions by 2024, six years earlier than India’s target to attain its sustainable development goals.
SRK has partnered with the Global Network for Zero (GNFZ), an international leadership collective, to accelerate its net zero commitments.
SRK is tracking its operational performance in energy, water, waste, transportation and occupant experience at SRK Empire and SRK House. Both diamond manufacturing facilities are recognised as among the highest-ranking green buildings globally, according to SRK.
“Decarbonisation is the crown jewel of the company’s sustained efforts. SRK's unwavering commitment to achieving net zero emissions stands firmly rooted in industry best practices, science-based frameworks and third-party validation,” SRK stated.
Other green initiatives include utilisation of renewable energy, waste management and water conservation, which are guided by a comprehensive roadmap towards net zero emissions, the company said.
