India-based technology firm Diamtech Research Centre Pvt Ltd (DRC) has developed a lab-grown diamond (LGD) detection device that uses artificial intelligence (AI).
The gadget, named the Guardian, offers automatic LGD detection for loose stones and finished jewellery, revealed the company. It comes with a large scanning area that can accommodate all types of jewellery, from small rings to large necklaces, as well as loose stones ranging from 0.03 carat to 100 carats.
Its compact and stylish design meanwhile makes it ideal for retail showrooms, added DRC. The device, launched in the US earlier this month, also provides “unparalleled precision with 98 per cent accuracy,” according to DRC.
DRC CEO Hardik Patel said the Guardian was developed to meet ever-evolving market requirements for an LGD detector that uses modern technology, has a wide scanning area and is reasonably priced.
