New business relationships are being forged at Jewellery & Gem WORLD Singapore (JGW Singapore) as strong industry recovery gets underway.
Gemstone dealer Krish Creations Co Ltd of Thailand met up with new potential clients from Europe and Asia, including Indonesia, Korea and Japan. Managing director Mehul Patel said buyers were interested in rubies and sapphires of 2 to 5 carats, with some seeking melee sizes.
Manuel Vaccari, owner of Ofir Srl, entertained customers from Malaysia, the UAE, the Philippines and Vietnam among others, who were drawn to the Italian jeweller’s handmade designs. Ofir’s signature line of original antique coin jewellery in 18-karat gold is particularly popular.
Emeralds and sapphires from the collection of Precious Pebbles Inc of the US have been catching the eye of wholesalers based in Singapore and Malaysia, according to COO Mohammed Ausaf.
Greenlab Diamonds is also having a good show. “JGW Singapore has serious buyers who offer actual and real potential for business,” said director Sanket Patel. The lab-grown diamond manufacturer aims to connect with jewellery producers and retail brands from Asia and Australia at the show.
Highlights at the show include Miranda Group Co Ltd’s Colors of Paraiba Tourmaline. The 21-piece loupe-clean collection has a total carat weight of 105.36.
At the show’s opening day on September 27, Venus Jewel unveiled The Royal Oval, a spectacular 52.64-carat flawless Type IIA natural diamond. “It took us 105 days to produce this stunning piece of nature from a rough weighing 144 carats,” said the company’s partner Rajesh Shah, who is inviting visitors to view this marvel at the Venus Jewel booth.
Over at Veerasak Gems, the spotlight falls on fascinating rubies and sapphires in loose stones, layouts and jewellery. Grabbing attention are a ring with a 10.01-carat unheated Mozambique Pigeon’s Blood ruby surrounded by D-colour diamonds and a layout of 42 unheated Mozambique Pigeon’s Blood rubies headlined by a 15-carat pear-shaped centre piece. While the company is known for its high-end stones, it also provides the full range of coloured gemstones, said president Veerasak Trirotanan.
Meanwhile, glittering in the display windows of Vitalit Co Ltd is a 3.45-carat cobalt spinel from Tanzania, whose electrifying blue colour is turning heads at the fair.
