Informa Markets is organising a webinar on jewellery preferences and sourcing requirements in Lebanon and Saudi Arabia on December 9 at 5pm Hong Kong.
Powered by Jewellery, Gem & Technology (JGT) Dubai, the “Exploring New Frontiers at JGT Dubai” webinar will discuss business opportunities in buyer markets that will be present at the show.
Arveen Iskandarian, chief financial and operating officer of Edward Iskandarian Jewellery, will discuss the jewellery preferences of consumers in Lebanon.
Lebanese of Armenian descent, Arveen grew up in Monrovia, Liberia, where her father Jack Khandjian, now retired, was a jewellery manufacturer. She returned to Lebanon to pursue her higher education and, in 2001, married Arty Iskandarian, a third-generation jewellery manufacturer, precious stone dealer, and owner of Edward Iskandarian Jewellery. Arveen and Arty have established Edward Iskandarian Jewellery as a retail and wholesale enterprise, specialising in the design and production of exclusive jewellery pieces and the sale of fine coloured gemstones.
Eng. Abdulghani Alsayegh, vice president of the Saudi National Committee for Precious Metals & Gemstones, and Mohamed Almuhaisen, chairman of Al Muhaisen Jewellery, will share their insights on the jewellery market of Saudi Arabia.
Currently pursuing his PhD, Abdulghani is also the vice president of Abdul Ghani Heritage Jewelry, which deals in the export, sale and purchase of precious metals, precious stones and fine jewellery of the highest quality to suit all tastes and prices. He is likewise vice chairman of the Board of Directors of Abdul-Ghani Holding Company, deputy sheikh of goldsmiths in Mecca, and a member of the Gold Committee in the Makkah Chamber.
Mohamed Almuhaisen heads Al Muhaisen Jewellery, one of the strongest players in the Saudi Arabian jewellery market. Founded in 1966, the company started as a gold and jewellery trader before setting up its factory in 1979, specialising first in the production of bangles. Over the years, Al Muhaisen Jewellery grew its manufacturing capabilities to cover diversified production lines, using state-of-the-art technology in modern facilities. It also established its own jewellery retail chain with an expansive network of branches in the Riyadh region. Al Muhaisen Jewellery stores carry the company’s own collections of jewellery with diamonds and coloured gemstones as well as imported fine jewellery pieces.
The webinar will be moderated by Ollie Quiniquini, associate publisher and editor-in-chief of JNA.
