This year’s edition of the Istanbul Jewelry Show, held from October 7 to 10, welcomed a higher number of visitors compared to pre-Covid 2019, demonstrating steady recovery in the international jewellery and gemstone sector.
Organised by Informa Markets and sponsored by HRD Antwerp, the event recorded a 14 per cent rise in visitor figures from the same period two years ago. European buyers were up 45 per cent while visitors from Russia and CIS countries rose 43 per cent; North America, 37 per cent and Middle Eastern countries, 10 per cent.
A total of 23,038 buyers from 128 countries graced the show’s 50th edition, according to the organiser. Countries with the highest number of visitors were Iran, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon, Russia, Iraq, Ukraine, Morocco and Libya.
UBM Rotaforte Founding Partner Şermin Cengiz commented, “It’s been a source of pride for us that we’ve managed to organise the Istanbul Jewelry Show for the 50th time since 1986 and also that we’ve reached the highest number of visitors for an October exhibition.”
The show shined the spotlight on 800 exhibitors from 10 countries. It also featured an international buyer delegation programme aimed at bolstering the country’s jewellery exports as well as a dedicated designer platform where jewellers showcased their latest designs and signature creations.
“Orders and new business deals made during the exhibition contributed positively to the global jewellery trade and especially to Turkish jewellery exports,” the organiser said.
The Istanbul fair was held following Informa AllSecure health and safety standards.
