A collection of three rings adorned with exceptional fancy colour diamonds is the star of a Christie’s Magnificent Jewels auction scheduled for April 13 in New York.
The sale will offer more than 200 lots, headlined by fancy colour diamonds, coloured gemstones, private collections and a wide selection of signed jewels by Belperron, Bulgari, Cartier, Graff, Harry Winston, Hemmerle, JAR, Lacloche, Tiffany & Co and Van Cleef & Arpels, to name a few, the auction house said.
Taking top billing is “The Perfect Palette,” a trio of rings set with a fancy vivid blue diamond of 2.13 carats, a fancy vivid orange diamond of 2.34 carats and a fancy vivid purplish pink diamond of 2.17 carats. The rings are to be sold as separate lots.
The blue diamond ring has a pre-sale estimate of US$2 million to US$3 million while the orange and purplish pink diamond rings are expected to fetch US$1.5 million to US$2.5 million each.
The New York auction will also offer two significant lots without reserve – a pair of round brilliant-cut diamond earrings in platinum and 18-karat white gold, and a ring with a fancy vivid purplish pink oval mixed-cut diamond of 3.02 carats.
Private collections meanwhile feature curated selections of signed jewels from the estate of Jacqueline Leeds and the property of an “elegant midwestern collector.” This sale will also include a Bulgari Serpenti wristwatch with proceeds designated for The Elizabeth Taylor Aids Foundation, according to Christie's.
