The 48th Istanbul Jewelry Show – March edition (IJS-March) is set to welcome more than 30,000 professional buyers from over 120 countries and regions. The four-day fair opened at the CNR Expo – Istanbul Fair Center on March 21.
“We’ve been organising the Istanbul Jewelry Show for the last 34 years and with the great support of the sector, we’ve been able to turn it into one of the world’s leading trade fairs with over 1,250 exhibitors and brands,” commented Şermin Cengiz, founding partner of UBM Rotaforte. The show is sponsored by Turk Ekonomi Bankası.
Featuring more than 1,250 companies and brands from 24 countries and regions, IJS-March also features an International Buyer Delegation Program. Under this initiative, about 1,500 buyers from 90 countries and regions are hosted during the fair with the support of the Ministry of Trade of the Turkish Republic. This project is organised by the General Secretary of the Istanbul Minerals and Metals Exporters Association, Jewelry Exporters’ Association (JTR) and UBM Rotaforte.
Business meetings and transactions conducted during the exhibition are expected to help generate about 80 percent of Turkey’s jewellery exports this year, Cengiz said.
IJS-March has an international exhibitor profile, with China and Italy having their national pavilions at the show. Companies from Germany, the US, UAE, UK, Morocco, France, India, Hong Kong, Spain, Switzerland, Japan, South Korea, Lithuania, Lebanon, Poland, Russia, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Ukraine and Jordan are also participating in the fair.
The show features a Designer Market, which highlights the latest collections and design portfolios of established and up-and-coming jewellers. Hosted every year by JTR as part of IJS, the Designer Market shines the spotlight on the creativity and ingenuity of Turkey’s new generation of jewellery artists.
