Now on its 9th year, the Gold Conference will bring industry leaders together for two days of panels and talks, highlighting all points in the precious metal’s mine-to-market journey.
Organised by the Initiatives in Art and Culture (IAC), the event gathers journalists, jewellery designers, environmentalists and government regulators to talk about challenges the precious metal and its surrounding industries face today. Scheduled for April 4 and 5, “Gold: Legacy, Leadership, Luminescence” will be held at Bohemian National Hall in New York City.
Pertinent issues in the gold jewellery sector, including changes in consumer preferences; modern perspectives on design, manufacturing and retail; as well as regulations and legislation relating to gold will be major discussion topics.
Among the speakers are jeweller Stephen Webster, who will share his design process and his admiration for gold in a talk entitled “Goldstruck;” and Ted Doudak, founder and CEO of Riva Precision Manufacturing, who will talk about the company’s new workspace as a leader in fine jewellery production.
Lisa Koenigsberg, president and founder of IAC, commented, “Approaches and solutions to challenges are building blocks, and our collective attention to them can ensure that society’s use of gold is driven by respect for materials, craft and authentic, artistic expression, and a mindfulness for ethical sourcing and responsible practice.”
