Luxury brand Gucci is unveiling a bold new collection of fine jewellery, Le Marché des Merveilles, which pays homage to the company’s iconic feline motif.
The pieces, adorned with diamonds and coloured gemstones in 18-karat gold, offer a subtle interpretation of the feline head, a defining motif of the house. The collection embodies this motif by way of earrings, necklaces, rings and bracelets.
For the campaign, the brand commissioned famed Swiss photographer Julia Hetta who conceptualised still life portraits of the Le Marché des Merveilles in the style of 16th century Flemish paintings. Captured like fine art, the dark and romantic light in images by Hetta added a majestic and mysterious aura to the collection, noted Gucci.
Key styles include four necklaces, each decorated with a single turquoise, onyx, jade or pink opal stone, enhanced with a diamond at the centre. The versatile pieces can be reversed to reveal the feline head. Different necklaces could be combined to create a layered effect.
Embellished with pink tourmaline or aquamarine, the alternative set of rings, necklaces, bracelets and earrings are presented with a hidden feline head on the back. The rings are decorated with rounded spikes around the outer edge.
