Gübelin Gem Lab is waiving the express service fee for its Gem Passport service at Jewellery & Gem ASIA Hong Kong (JGA) 2025, with orders completed within 48 hours by appointment. Powered by Gübelin’s artificial intelligence-driven system Gemtelligence, Gem Passports provide country of origin and heat treatment determination for rubies, blue sapphires and emeralds of up to 3 carats.
According to Gübelin Gem Lab, it is expecting to receive rubies, sapphires and emeralds for processing at the show, particularly since these “Big Three” of the coloured gemstone world still hold significant importance in the market. At the same time, it is seeing a growing trend in fancy sapphires, Paraiba tourmalines and spinels.
“As a globally recognised hub for the jewellery industry, Hong Kong plays a pivotal role in manufacturing, trading and exhibitions,” the company stated. “An international gemmological laboratory such as the Gübelin Gem Lab offers independent, third-opinion evaluations that help ensure quality and trust for end consumers throughout the trading process.”
Aside from its regular Gemmological Reports, Gübelin Gem Lab is also highlighting its Gemmological Profile (Plus) or GP+ for exceptional gemstones.
A more comprehensive document that combines science and artistic presentation, GP+ contains the featured gemstone’s details in both print format and embossed, along with a collection of high-resolution photographs and photomicrographs that highlight its external beauty and internal character.
Also included are background information on the type of gemstone, its history and identity as well as its authenticity and origin.
A premium showcase for extraordinary gems, GP+ has a high-quality leather cover and is presented in an elegant slipcase.
