Jewellery experts will examine the correlation between luxury and sustainability at a panel discussion today from 2:30pm to 3:30pm at The Stage in Hall 1B.
The session, “The Rise of the Eco-Friendly Luxury Consumer,” will examine how sustainability has become a defining factor for authentic luxury. The conversation will focus on what drives this change and the outlook for luxury jewellery in an increasingly environmentally and socially conscious world.
Speakers are Lianne Ng, sustainability director of Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group; Henry Tse, CEO of Ancardi, Nyrelle & JRNE; and Pui In Catherine Siu, founder of PICS Fine Jewellery.
Ng has been director of Sustainability at Chow Tai Fook since November 2023, overseeing the group’s sustainability strategy development and action plan implementation across the organisation, driving impactful progress in sustainable development.
Before joining Chow Tai Fook, she worked as a sustainability advisor at The Purpose Business. From 2015 to 2019, she was director of External Affairs and Sustainability at Vitasoy, where she led sustainability strategy development and external communications, and significantly enhanced the company’s sustainability performance.
Driven by a passion for innovation, second-generation jeweller Tse founded Nyrelle to redefine the jewellery industry by championing transparency, sustainability and ethical practices. Through partnerships like Moyo Gems, he actively empowers female miners and advocates for responsible sourcing. By implementing an affordable direct-to-consumer model, he ensures fine jewellery is accessible to women, allowing them to own exquisitely crafted pieces.
Tse has over two decades of experience in sourcing, manufacturing and retail, including collaborations with prestigious luxury brands.
Also a next-gen industry leader, Siu is a GIA Graduate Gemologist and jewellery artisan with nearly 15 years of experience. She believes all natural creations are the perfect combination of art and science; every gem – like every person – has a purpose on Earth. Her journey, driven by curiosity, spans commerce, gemmology, design and craftsmanship. Through her work, she celebrates overlooked details and unrepresented gemstones, aiming to promote social equality and inclusion. Siu received the Hong Kong Living Influencer Award in 2021 and was named one of Ritzy’s “10 Influential Jewellery Designers” in 2022.
