Jewellery & Gem ASIA Hong Kong (JGA) 2025 will train the spotlight on mesmerising pearl and pearl jewellery pieces from international exhibitors when it opens on June 19.
Premium white and golden South Sea pearls from Myanmar will headline Rio Pearl’s offerings at the fair, with Rio Pearl Director Terence Lee saying he is upbeat about business prospects on the back of strong demand, especially for top-range products.
“What excites us is strong demand — we sold every single harvest of golden South Sea pearls within the quarter,” shared Lee. “This is encouraging and shows growing appreciation for their rarity, beauty and timeless elegance.”
Rio Pearl is likewise expanding its operations in the Mergui Archipelagos of Myanmar to bolster golden and white South Sea pearl cultivation. In 2024, Rio Pearl unveiled Myanmar’s first top-quality white South Sea pearls. Lee stated, “We are setting ambitious goals for our harvest, aiming to achieve a 50 per cent yield of white pearls in our annual production.”
Over at Autore, Australian South Sea pearls will be the main attraction. The company will present its latest collections of premium pearls at the fair. Ruby Autore, marketing head and international jewellery manager of Autore Group, also attested to the market’s unwavering interest in South Sea pearls mainly due to their sustainable and rare nature.
The company is counting on steady demand for South Sea pearls to support growth, particularly in Australia and Asia, in 2025.
“We remain optimistic about growth as consumers gravitate toward timeless, meaningful purchases. South Sea pearls – rare and sustainable – offer exactly that,” noted Ruby. “Our diverse market presence, spanning Asia, Europe and Australia, makes us resilient against regional downturns and shifting policies.”
Meanwhile, Angeperle (International) Co Ltd will present its carefully curated pearl collections at the fair. Among the highlights of its offerings are nucleated freshwater strands, prized for the roundness and lustre and available in mid- to high-quality; ultra-unique loose baroque pearls, celebrating organic asymmetry; and other loose freshwater pearls.
With over 30 years of experience in the trade, Hong Kong’s Tai Chung Jewellery Co Ltd will bring its manufacturing expertise to the fore with a collection of natural pearl jewellery. These include a silver bracelet with three quality Mabe pearls and an equally beautiful pair of queen conch shell flower earrings.
Japanese supplier Jewel Hayakawa Co Ltd, renowned for its tech-driven original designs, will showcase its innovative pearl pieces infused with precious metals. Its “poshel” series features a pendant with 18-karat gold and platinum inlay on mother-of-pearl alongside a Mabe pearl pendant in platinum with pavé diamonds.
