Pearl companies are shining the spotlight on the pearl's extraordinary allure and versatility through new collections and beloved classics.
Pierre Boite, general director of French pearl specialist Alain Boite, said the company is offering mainly top-quality South Sea pearls.
“We also have natural pearls. Majority of our offerings are special, statement pearls,” shared Pierre. “Tahitian and white South Sea pearls are among the fastest moving products now. Demand for golden South Sea pearls is muted.”
White South Sea pearls are highly favoured in Asia, the US and Australia while European buyers are partial to Akoya pearls, the company official said.
Meanwhile, Rio Pearl is highlighting design and product innovations. Rebecca Cheng, chief operations officer of Rio Pearl, explained, “Our latest collection features innovative combinations of Keshi pearls and vibrant coloured gemstones that embody the fresh and energetic spirit of spring.”
The company is also offering a beloved range of premium South Sea pearls, adding that these continue to command attention in the trade.
“There is steady demand for South Sea pearls particularly among prestigious brands. As such, prices remain high for premium selections. Additionally, there is an upward trend in prices within the medium to medium-low range during the latter half of 2024, which has contributed positively to sales performance,” remarked Cheng.
