Jewellery, Gem & Technology in Dubai (JGTD) 2024 is offering a host of educational and social events that deliver business insights, trend updates and networking opportunities during its three-day run from November 12 to 14, 2024 at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City.
The UAE-ITALY Golden Bridge Awards, organised by the Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) and the Dubai Jewellery Group (DJG), takes place at 4:30pm today at JGTD’s Golden Stage.
Today, IEG in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) and DJG will host the UAE – ITALY Golden Bridge Awards. Held under the auspices of the Italian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, the recognition programme celebrates 34 high-volume buyers from Dubai’s Gold Souk community, 18 of whom are DJG members. The awards aim to strengthen commercial ties between Dubai and Italy, boosting the visibility of JGTD, honouring prominent buyers from the Gold Souk and Italian gold companies, and fostering stronger connections between Dubai’s gold economy and Italy’s gold districts.
On November 13, Paola De Luca, founder and creative director of Trendvision Jewellery + Forecasting, will make a presentation entitled “Trendvision – Wonderland: Co-creating the Future of Luxury and Jewelry” from 11am to 12pm. She will be joined by Carlo Pignataro, advisor and sales coach to the luxury industry, and artist Nadine Kanso.
The Middle East Jewellery Designers’ Forum, organised by The New Jeweller International Media Group, will be held that afternoon from 2pm to 5pm. The keynote address will be delivered by DMCC Director Precious Metals & Stones Maryam Al Hashemi. This will be followed by two panel discussions.
Panellists in the “Emerging Jewellery Designers – Changing Paradigm” session are Sheikha Al Sarkal, founder and creator of Al Serkal Jewellery – Sharjah; Maha Al Sibai, chairperson of the Dubai Business Group for Gold & Jewellery Designers (DBGGJD); Noora Al Rashidi, founder and director of Nina Jewellery – Kuwait; Chandu Siroya, vice chairman of the Dubai Jewellery Group’ and Ashish Vijay, chairman of AV Group.
The second session, Advancements in Technology – Jewellery Designing, features Patricia de Guzman, manager of the Dubai Design Academy (An initiative of DMCC); Saeed Mortazawi, director of Mortazawi Design Academy – Iran; Marie Claire, assistant dean and instructor at the College of Art & Creative Enterprises of Zayed University – Abu Dhabi; and Nirupa Bhatt, independent director and business coach.
Moreover, the DBGGJD’s Ebdaa International Jewellery Design Awards 2024 is taking over JGTD’s Golden Stage from 11am to 1pm on November 14 to celebrate exceptional design talents from around the world.
