Professional trade buyers from around the world are taking full advantage of the business possibilities at the world’s biggest B2B fine jewellery fair, Jewellery & Gem WORLD Hong Kong (JGW), while staying updated on latest market developments.
Angel Tan Min Yin, procurement director of Classic Gold & Jewellery in Malaysia, is looking to purchase plain gold jewellery in 22-karat and 24-karat gold as well as pieces adorned with natural diamonds.
“We found interesting options at the show that met our satisfaction and requirements,” she said, adding she was also open to purchasing lab-grown diamond jewellery. Classic Gold & Jewellery operates two physical stores in Kuala Lumpur and an online shop.
Indra Lionardy, CFO of Indonesian chain store Adelle Jewellery, is at JGW to source for technology solutions and packaging items. He shared, “We found some smaller machines of good quality at more competitive prices than before. For instance, we came across a laser engraving machine that could help us create tailored products for our market.”
Cindy Zhang, CEO of Taiwan-based retailer Diamond Service Center (DSC), is using her visit to JGW this year to learn about the latest jewellery trends and innovations.
DSC currently sells diamond and pearl jewellery in 18-karat gold, from fine jewellery to affordable collections for everyday use. Given heightened demand for gold jewellery in the market, Zhang intends to expand DSC’s offerings to include gold jewellery and gold beans.
“JGW showcases a wide range of products and services,” she said. “I am most impressed by a smart gold recycling machine offered at the show, which would support our commercial objectives and sustainability goals.”
