Jewellery designers and manufacturers are unveiling their latest collections at Jewellery & Gem WORLD Hong Kong (JGW), giving visitors at the show first pick of the freshest and most fashionable styles.
Hong Kong-based designer Ken Chan is using JGW as launchpad for his two new collections – Simple Luxury and Integrated, both in 18-karat gold and adorned with diamonds, rubies, sapphires and other coloured gemstones.
Simple Luxury consists of dainty feminine jewellery for trendy women, while Integrated features unisex pieces that combine different materials in arresting designs.
Chan currently caters to the Hong Kong and East Asian markets and intends to also explore opportunities among European buyers at the show.
Walasons Ltd, for its part, is casting the spotlight on two of its signature 18-karat gold jewellery collections.
Inspired by Hong Kong’s neon skyline, Colours of Joy relies on enamel and diamonds to create vibrant jewellery pieces with a touch of whimsy. Pieces in the Fascinating Facets Collection, meanwhile, are testaments to the beauty of perfect geometry. Their linear accents and mesmerising curves studded with scintillating diamonds come together in structural harmony in alluring jewellery pieces.
“Producing a smooth, silky finish and consistent pastel shades for enamel is often challenging. During the downtime brought about by the pandemic, we focused on perfecting this technique. Today, our finishing for enamel, gold and diamond combinations is among the best in the market,” the company said.
Walasons started out in 1992 as a diamond manufacturer and supplier. In 2020, it ventured into jewellery production by setting up a facility in China. Last year, it launched its namesake brand that caters to modern women with classy and elegant jewellery designs.
At JGW, the company is looking to connect with brand distributors from the US and Europe to share its unique sense of style with a wider international audience. Southeast Asia is currently its main market.
