Coloured gemstone dealers will be presenting their expansive array of fine gems at the upcoming Jewellery & Gem WORLD Hong Kong.
A one-of-a-kind Santa Maria aquamarine suite will take centre stage at the booth of German lapidarist Constantin Wild GmbH & Co KG.
Comprising 12 faceted aquamarines weighing a total of 230 carats, the suite presents 11 stones for a necklace and one for a ring. The octagon-shaped gems in Art Deco style range from 14mm to 27mm in size.
“The stunning quality of the stones is captured in its intense ocean colour,” the company said. A specialist in rare and precious gems, the family-owned business is now run by fourth-generation gem connoisseur Constantin Wild who has led the company since 1996.
Mahenge Pte Ltd, meanwhile, is casting the spotlight on the finest coloured gemstones from Tanzania’s famed Mahenge region, East Africa and Sri Lanka. These include cobalt spinel, hot pink spinel and tsavorite garnet.
“Until recently, cobalt spinel was only found in Vietnam. A new source in Mahenge, Tanzania, has reignited the world’s demand for these electric blue treasures,” the company noted.
Mahenge is also one of the world’s premium sources of vibrant pink spinel, after a spectacular deposit of the fiery pink-red stone was discovered there in 2007, it continued.
