Professional trade buyers from over 100 countries and regions are converging at Jewellery, Gem & Technology Dubai (JGT Dubai), the industry’s first international B2B in-person trade fair of the year.
The fair is hosting more than 200 wholesalers, retailers and brands from around 30 countries spanning Eastern Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, South America and South Asia. Key among them are buying groups from Saudi Arabia, Russia, India, Turkey, Egypt, Lebanon, Armenia and Brazil.
Overseas buyers are primed to explore the diverse product offerings at JGT Dubai.
“I have really been looking forward to attending this show, which is hosted by the beautiful city of Dubai,” said Florencia Boskis of Floboskis Stad of Argentina. “The showcases of JGT Dubai’s exhibitors are amazing.”
Mauricio Okubo of Brazil’s Julio Okubo Joias is all set to find his next bestsellers at the show. “After a long period of difficulties, I hope to find suppliers and discover trends that can help my business grow. I’m excited about building new partnerships, connecting with big brands, engaging with important entrepreneurs within our sector, and finding new collections in Dubai,” Okubo shared.
Mohamed Almuhaisen, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s Al Muhaisen Jewellery, welcomes the opportunity to once again source for his requirements in person.
“For the last two years, business has been conducted on Zoom and other online channels. These could not properly convey the beauty of the jewellery piece, the quality of the craftsmanship or the efforts and skills of the manufacturers,” Almuhaisen remarked. “We are looking forward to seeing jewellery in the physical space again at JGT Dubai and hope to find some remarkable designs that we can bring to our customers in Saudi Arabia.”
Youssef Botros of luxury brand, Botros Jewellery of Egypt, is looking forward to reconnecting with established vendors, meeting with new suppliers and getting inspired with new merchandise ideas at the show.
“I’m ready to attend JGT Dubai where my regular suppliers, in addition to many new other potential business partners, will be exhibiting their latest jewellery collections. Besides, it is always a pleasure to be in the lovely city of Dubai,” shared Botros.
Rubies, sapphires, emeralds and small diamonds top the JGT Dubai shopping list of Arveen Iskandarian, chief financial and operational officer of Edward Iskandarian Jewellery in Lebanon. She noted there was a shortage of coloured gemstones in the market hence the trade show would enable her to stock up on her workshop’s requirements. Good-quality mountings and components such as tennis bracelets and rivet necklaces are likewise on her radar, Iskandarian continued.
Antoun Saad of Lebanon-based jewellery retailer, Primo Gold, added, “Coming out of a sustained period of lockdowns and travel bans, we are glad to be able to visit JGT Dubai where we expect to discover a wide variety of quality products by international brands – all under one roof."
Over 300 suppliers from 23 countries and regions are set to regale visitors to JGT Dubai over the next three days. The fair has seven national pavilions, namely Belgium, Colombia, India, Israel, Italy, Spain and Turkey.
JGT Dubai is organised by Informa Markets Jewellery and the Italian Exhibition Group. It is powered by official partner Dubai Multi Commodities Centre and industry partner, the Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group.
