Visitors to this year’s Jewellery & Gem ASIA Hong Kong are in for an impressive array of curated programmes and events spread out over the four-day fair. These include nearly 20 engaging talks and presentations by influencers and experts from the world of jewellery, gemstones and fashion. 

Taking place at JGA’s I Love Jewellery Salon, the signature sessions are centred on Fashion x Jewellery, Style x Jewellery, Jewellery Chronicles and Know Your Gemstones. 

Buyers can also experience live demonstrations of traditional silversmithing craftsmanship onsite as well as live jewellery-making demonstrations by Hatton Jewellery Institute and sharing sessions by the designers-in-residence at Loupe.

Hatton Jewellery Institute (HJI) is Hong Kong’s foremost dedicated jewellery education space whose mandate is to equip the next generation of jewellery makers with traditional skills. The institute runs both bench-based courses and co-working space for independent designers. 

At the fair, visitors are given the opportunity to experience hands-on jewellery-making and design activities at HJI’s booth where they can learn to create textures and patterns on silver metal and take away with them their own silver pendant. The colour-rendering experience meanwhile will introduce visitors to the fundamentals of fine jewellery rendering and teach them how to colour-render gemstones with colour gouache. 

Loupe, a community of designers in Hong Kong, is also offering a unique immersive experience to JGA visitors. Loupe’s designers-in-residence are presenting their latest collections, and sharing their creative process and design thinking at the fair. By visiting Loupe’s booth, participants get the chance to meet today’s boundary-breaking creative talents who are steadily carving a niche for themselves in the industry.

Located right at the heart of Hong Kong, Loupe is a design incubation space founded by Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group. The design hub aims to inspire creativity and provide a platform for local and international designers and artisans to engage with the general public.

Focusing mainly on jewellery-making and design, Loupe is dedicated to the nurturing of young talents with its in-house design residency program, as well as public workshops led by industry professionals.
