Jewellery & Gem Digital World is presenting an interesting slate of webinar sessions today covering the state of the diamond trade, 3D printing technologies, gemstone nomenclature and Guangzhou’s major coloured gemstone, and packaging and equipment suppliers.
At 2pm HKT, World Federation of Diamond Bourses President Yoram Dvash is casting light on difficulties faced by diamond companies in a time of massive disruption as well as business opportunities in the midst of adversities. The discussion is also delving into digital initiatives in the diamond trade and the outlook for the coming year.
At 3:30pm HKT, the latest jewellery-making techniques, including 3D printing technologies, are the focus of the webinar, “New Techniques in Jewellery Manufacturing,” sponsored by the Centre for Gemmological Research (CGR). 3D printing expert Ning Xian, the webinar’s featured speaker, is the founder of China Jewelry 3D Printing Sharing Center and Honorary Principal of Guangzhou Dimai Jewelry 3D Design College.
Have you ever wondered why certain gemstones are presented in the market under different commercial names? Do names matter? Dr. Lore Kiefert, a gemmologist with more than 25 years of working experience in several gemmological laboratories, is going to answer all your questions on gemstone nomenclature in the CGR webinar, “Gemstones: What’s in a Name?” scheduled for 7:30pm tonight HKT.
Both the 3:30pm and 7:30pm sessions are going to be moderated by Dr. Miro Fei-Yeung Ng, founder and president of CGR.
Capping off Jewellery & Gem Digital World’s webinar programme today is a session on Packaging & Equipment and Gemstones by the China Guangzhou Pavilion. According to the pavilion organiser, the session features established Guangzhou suppliers who are steadily expanding their reach overseas.
