Greenland Ruby gems are mined in accordance with the strictest standards and best practices and are traceable from mine to market. A Certificate of Origin is issued with rubies and pink sapphires of over 1 carat.
Greenland Ruby, a responsible source of rubies and pink sapphires, is unveiling its collection of faceted gems and cabochons at the September Fair.
Top-billing its product portfolio are pigeon's blood rubies and light icy pink sapphires, which are available in transparent, translucent or opaque cabochons or one-of-a-kind faceted gems of up to 50 carats. It also offers calibrated multiple-sized cabochons in quantity.
The gems are unearthed from a mine in Aappallutoq (Ah-puh-lu-tok) – a remote and pristine part of Greenland that is believed to be the oldest ruby deposit in the world. A state-of-the-art processing plant operates there, the company said.
“Greenland Ruby gems are mined in accordance with the strictest Northern European standards and best practices and are traceable from mine to market. A Certificate of Origin is issued with rubies and pink sapphires of over 1 carat,” the company said.
To complement its loose gemstone offerings, the miner is also displaying some designs from its partner and distributor Hartmann's, which launched a Greenland Ruby jewellery collection last year.
Greenland Ruby is the first coloured gemstone miner to join the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC). It is in the process of becoming certified against RJC's Code of Practices, which defines responsible, social and environmental business practices for companies in the jewellery supply chain.
