The Portraits of Nature high jewellery collection by De Beers, which took a year to complete, draws inspiration from the play of light that reflects off wild creatures’ bodies and the many scintillating patterns and combinations that it creates.
These intoxicating images result from an interaction between light and microscopic crystals to form chromatic effects, mirroring the way diamonds reflect and refract light – their colours playing on the skin.
"The result is a collection that showcases the myriad tonalities of rough and polished diamonds in rare fancy colours – our most extensive collection to date. Wondrous and dynamic in design and meticulously crafted to move, it is a celebration of both the animal kingdom and nature's other most enigmatic works of art – De Beers' peerless diamonds," remarked François Delage, CEO of De Beers Jewellers.
