Jewellery for men is enjoying solid market demand, buoyed by male buyers becoming more confident in and open to expressing their personal style through jewellery in edgy, inventive designs.
Further fuelling the trend are influential male celebrities sporting unique jewellery pieces in red-carpet events or outings, inspiring their fans to follow suit.
What better way to showcase one’s individuality and creative style than gracing the Met Gala – a highly anticipated annual fundraiser attended by the biggest names in fashion and Hollywood?
This year’s edition, held on May 5, 2024, witnessed glammed-up male stars wearing jewellery pieces from luxury houses. One emerging trend was men wearing brooches.
Veteran actor Jeff Goldblum dazzled in Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany & Co creations, including a Bird on a Rock brooch with a 52-carat green beryl; the Ribbons Drop brooch adorned with a natural saltwater cream pearl and diamonds; and the Vrille brooch with 20 round purple sapphires and 137 round brilliant diamonds.
Meanwhile, Sebastian Stan, known for playing the Winter Soldier in the Avengers movies, opted for three Cartier brooches in platinum with diamonds, which he wore around his waist. Award-winning Irish actor Andrew Scott, for his part, donned Boucheron’s trio of Bee brooches from 1948, paired with a Fern necklace.
