Diamond jewellery is casting a wider net to appeal to modern consumers, with luxury jewellery brands introducing contemporary designs and adding innovative twists to traditional styles.
De Beers Jewellers has expanded its Enchanted Lotus Collection, which was first launched in 2009.
With the brand adding coloured enamel to its fine jewellery for the first time this season, the new Enchanted Lotus designs include pendants, bracelets, earrings and rings in green, blue, red and pink enamel with micropavé diamonds.
Adding a youthful charm to the line are two cord bracelets – one in 18-karat rose gold with a pink cord and the other in 18-karat yellow gold with a black cord – that can be worn alone or in combination with other bracelets in a striking way to layer diamonds.
Also new to the line are a beaded pendant in 18-karat rose gold with a central diamond and a pin in 18-karat white gold with diamonds.
Chaumet’s high jewellery collection Joséphine meanwhile reinterprets tiara and aigrette motifs in its creations, which cater to liberated women with distinct personalities.
Pear-shaped diamonds lie at the heart of the collection, inspired by Napoleon’s first wife and the maison’s first great client.
Joséphine Aigrette pieces reinvent the V shape of the egret in a flurry of diamonds, while Joséphine Ronde d’Aigrettes jewels highlight the pear motif in elegant designs.
Italian designer brand Roberto Coin, for its part, relies on diamonds to punctuate the minimal yet contemporary styles of its refreshed Love in Verona Collection, inspired by the city where the epic romance of Romeo and Juliet is set.
Set in yellow, white or rose gold, the new pieces mostly comprise two bands set side by side and bridged with four-petal diamond flowers, the collection’s iconic element.
