Jewellers can choose from a palette of invigorating hues outlined in Pantone’s Spring/Summer 2021 Color Trend Highlights, including exotic pinks, vibrant yellows and empowering blues to develop their upcoming collections.
The Pantone Color Institute identified a themed assortment of colours to help designers from different fields of expertise expand their colour gamut while striking a balance between the bold and the classic.
Pale, hazy pinks and greens fall under the Summer Bouquet category for a fresh, nature-inspired colour range – bringing to mind rose quartz, pink tourmaline, jadeite or kunzite, among other coloured gems.
The theme Intoxicating, meanwhile, groups together “vibrant yellows, sweetly scented lavenders, fragrant pinks and cool greens” to create a dynamic contrast with a crisp aqua, according to Pantone. In the jewellery world, this could translate to fancy pink and yellow diamonds; amethyst and peridot, to name a few.
Under Power Surge, Pantone selected darker, empowering colours that can infuse glamour to any collection. Jewellers can take their pick from an expansive selection of vivid gemstones such as ruby, sapphire and garnet, among others, to convey this vibrant theme.
